ಲಕ್ಕಸಂದ್ರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವು ನಂದಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಕಣಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರು ರಾಯರು 1996ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮಠವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಇದೇ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣ್ಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಚಮುಖಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವೂ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ದಿನದ 24 ಗಂಟೆಗಳೂ ಅನ್ನದಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಭಕ್ತರಿಗಾಗಿ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು, ಪ್ರಸಾದ ವಿತರಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಮಂದಿರ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅದು ಈಗ ಅಂತಿಮ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Welcome to Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Lakkasandra.

Lakkasandra Kshetra is a small village and a sacred place situated in the valley of the Nandi Hills. Here, our revered Guru, Sri Guru Rayaru, established the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in 1996. Within the same premises, the Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple and the Panchamukhi Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple were also built under his guidance.

At this holy place, Annadana (free food service) is available 24 hours a day for all devotees visiting the temple. Construction of a function hall and rooms for devotees is also underway to facilitate religious and cultural programs, as well as prasada distribution, and the work is currently in its final stage.

About the Guru

ಉಳುಚುಕಮ್ಮಿಗಳ ಪಂಗಡದವರು, ಗೋತ್ರ ರತಿತರಸ. ಋಗ್ವೇದ. ಮನೆ ದೇವರು ದೇವರಾಯನ ದುರ್ಗ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನರಸಿಂಹ. ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಗುರುಗಳು ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು. ಆರಾಧ್ಯ ದೈವ ಶ್ರೀರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು.

ತುಮಕೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಗುಬ್ಬಿ ಮೂಲದವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಯರು, ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಗಳು 15 ಜನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ್ನ ಕಳ್ಕೊಂಡು, ದೇವರಾಯನ ದುರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆ ಮಾಡಿ,16 ನೇ ಮಗನಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾಗರಾಜ ಅಂತ ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ರು. 26 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ, ಮಾತ್ನಾಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬರ್ತಾ ಇರ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಿವಿಯೂ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ರಾಜಯೋಗಯಿದ್ರೂ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ತಬ್ಬಲಿಯಂತಿದ್ದಂತ ರಾಯರನ್ನು ಕೈಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದು ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು. ಗುರುರಾಯರೇ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ರಾಮಾಯಣ, ಮಹಾಭಾರತ, ಆಗುಹೋಗುಗಳು, ನೊಂದವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಂತ್ವನ ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕಂಥದ್ದು, ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ತೋರಿಸತಕ್ಕಂಥದ್ದು, ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಿರೋ, ಅದನ್ನ ಸರಿ ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ , ಸಮಾಜದ ಉದ್ದಾರ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಗುರು ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನದ ಬಲದಿಂದ ಛಲದಿಂದ ಎಂತಹ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಯಾರುನ್ನೂ ಕೈಚಾಚಿದವರಲ್ಲ. ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅನೇಕ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡ ರಾಯರು ಲಕ್ಕಸಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನವಿತ್ತು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಣವಿದೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ಖಾತ್ರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ರಾಯರ ದರ್ಶನದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅನ್ನದಾನ, ರಾಯರ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಜ್ಞಾನದಾನ, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಅರಿವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನ. ಹೀಗೆ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳ ಕೃಪಾಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಂತ್ವನ ಹೇಳಿ, ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿ, ನಂಬಿಕೆ ದೃಢ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ರಾಯರು. ಇಂತಹ ಮಹಾಮಹಿಮರ ಸ್ಥಳ ಲಕ್ಕಸಂದ್ರ.

Sri Rayaru belong to the Uluchukammigalu community, with the Gothra being Ratitarasa. They follow the Rigveda tradition. Their family deity is Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy of Devarayanadurga. Their traditional Guru is Adi Shankaracharya, and their worshipped deity is Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

Sri Rayaru hailed from Gubbi in Tumakuru district. His parents had lost 15 children earlier, and after performing Naga Pratishthe at Devarayanadurga, he was born as their 16th son. Therefore, he was named Nagaraja. Until the age of 26, he could neither speak nor hear. Though destined for Rajayoga, he lost his parents and lived like an orphan with no one to support him. It was Sri Raghavendra Swamy who guided and uplifted him.

Through the divine inspiration and knowledge bestowed by Guru Rayaru, he gained wisdom about the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and life's spiritual truths. He comforted the distressed, guided the sick, corrected mistakes in traditional practices, and worked tirelessly for the upliftment of society.

With the strength of self-respect and determination given by his Guru, Rayaru never stretched his hand before anyone, regardless of difficulties. For forty years, despite facing many hardships, he ensured that every person who came to Lakkasandra was fed and even checked whether they had money for their return journey before sending them back.

Those who visited this sacred place not only received the darshana of Rayaru, but also Annadana (free food), spiritual wisdom through his words, and peace of mind through understanding that wisdom. By the grace and blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, Rayaru would console people, fill them with courage, strengthen their faith, and send them back with hope and confidence.

Such is the greatness and glory of the sacred place called Lakkasandra.
